hab´s euch doch gleich gesagt: Diese schwedische Rotzrock-Kapelle
regelt einiges! Nach der famosen Langrille „...And The Rest Will
Follow“ (siehe RH 241) fachen die fünf Chucks nur ein knappes
Jahr später mit „The Return Of Rock´n´Roll“
das Rotz´n´Roll-Feuer weiter an. Während man beim Griffbrettknaller
´!!!Electrified!!!´ Angus Young huldigt, hätten selbst
Turbonegro den Ohrenschmalzkiller ´Cold Blood´ nicht besser
hinbekommen. Daneben schlägt die Panzerknackerbande aber auch neue
Töne an, darunter Wüstenrockriffs, Country-Lagerfeuer-Akustik
und Beatles-Harmonien. Und wer bei der absoluten Hitgranate ´On
The Case´ nicht lauthals „I´m on the case, you motherfucker!“
mitgrölt, sollte dringend mal zum Ohrologen.
Fazit:
Albumtitel-Mission erfolgreich ausgeführt!

bevor Chuck-Norris-Witze wie “Chuck Norris hat bis unendlich gezählt.
Zweimal!“ und ähnliche en vogue waren, haben sich fünf
Schweden zusammengetan um dem Martial-Arts-Gott in musikalischer Form
zu huldigen. Und mit „The Return Of Rock´n´Roll”
legt das Chuck Norris Experiment nun sein viertes Album vor. Musikalisch
gibt´s Mid-Tempo-lastigen, Gitarren-schwangeren Rock´n´Roll
in Richtung Monster Magnet oder Turbonegro zu hören.
Während
die einen jedoch einen immer poppigeren, Mainstream-Weg einschlugen,
bleiben T.C.N.E. unangepasst und musikalisch roher, was mir persönlich
sehr sympathisch ist. Trotzdem schafft es die Band einen frischen Sound
zu spielen, starke Gitarrenriffs und ein exakt getimter Background machen
das Gesamtpaket der Band einfach stimmig. Anspieltipps der Platte sind
„You Got It Coming“, “Move Like A Machine” und “Silicone
City”. Trotz des wirklich soliden Songwritings gehen mir etwas
die Tempowechsel ab, was mir die Platte etwas zu eintönig macht,
ebenso glaube ich, dass die Stimme von Chuck Ransom, welche mir sehr
gut gefällt, sicher nicht jedermanns Sache oder Geschmack ist.
„The
Return Of…“ bleibt trotz allem eine gelungene Scheibe und
ist absolut hörenswert für jeden Fan von Gitarrenmusik. Außerdem
besitzt sie ein geiles Artwork, was man eigentlich eher von Psychobilly-Bands
wie The Meteors gewohnt ist. Tom (Psycho T Records)

Gemäß dem Titel strömt dem Hörer bei diesem Albumdurchgängig
dieses gewisse Rock'n'Roll-Flair aus denBoxen entgegen. Die Songs streben
durchgängig vorwärtsund greifen dabei nicht nur den guten
alten Rock'n'Roll auf,sondern verbinden ihn mit Punk und einem Schuss
Old-school-Metal. Das Mischungsverhältnis und dieses gewisseEtwas
machen das Besondere am Sound der Chucks aus.Sehr zu empfehlen für
alle, die was für Gitarren übrig haben. Wer nun die Band aus
Schweden zuvor noch nicht kannteund hinter ihrem Namen eine Hommage
an einen bekanntenamerikanischen Filmstar vermutet, liegt daneben. Das
Fün-fergespann will damit eher an den Blues-Musiker Charles"Chuck"
Norris erinnern. Getreu dem Motto: Back to theroots of the roots.

Nachdem die erste Generation des Skandinavienrocks im Suff geendet
ist (Hurriganes), der zweiten die Puste ausgeht (Gluecifer) oder sich
eine Auszeit gönnt (Hellacopters) wird die dritte immer aktiver.
Dem Albumtitel getreu fräsen die Schweden ihre neuesten Rock´n´Roll-Ergüsse
in den Longplayer - und zwar in „de Luxe" Version. Von einer
„Wiederkehr" zu sprechen weigere ich mich aber, da R´n´R
verdammt nochmal nie tot war! Da auf dem weiten Feld der Stromgitarrenmusik
mittlerweile aber jedes Stück Neuland abgegrast wurde, treiben
TCNE ihre ganz persönliche Rocksau ... nur über die saftigsten,
bereits getesteten und für gut befundenen Weiden, damit der Brocken
auch schön kräftig und fett wird. Und das klappt hervorragend!
Frei von der Leber weg hingerotzter Bastard der mehr auf Groove als
auf Stinkefingerattitude setzt - besser Arschwackeln als Kneipenschlägerei
ist die Devise. Mehr als unterhaltsame und mit viel Potential versehene
Platte.

Rawk has a new name.
Let's
face it; you can only listen to ROCKET FROM THE CRYPT, GNR and AC/DC
for so long until you've worn the discs into powder. Thankfully, Chuck
Ransom and the boys are aware of this problem, and have offered two
swift remedies this year with the phenomenal "And the Rest Will
Follow" and now another knockout punch, "The Return of Rock
'n Roll".
The disc leads off with it's best track "You Got it Coming",
sagaciously setting the tone. Over the course of eleven songs, the boys
dispense a bounty of crunching riffage, anthemic drinking-fighting-fucking
lyrics, brief guitar solos that clash, blend, and intertwine, and other
assorted elements for disturbing the peace. You'll be humming "Don't
ever let those bastards get you down..." on your way to work in
no time. Plus, there's a fair share of surprises like the sitar-ish
acoustic segments of "Radioshadow". Rawk has a new name and
it is THE CHUCK NORRIS EXPERIMENT. Buy or die.

"Who will save rock'n'roll?" sangen einst die DICTATORS,
ich darf heute noch ein "Scandinavian" einzufügen. Die
Waschbärenbande schlägt erstaunlich schnell mit einem neuen,
wunderbar großmäulig betitelten Album wieder zu. Aber da
die Geschichte zeigt, dass wer die Schnauze so voll nimmt, auch damit
rechnen muss, auf selbige zu fliegen (meist von schallendem Gelächter
begleitet), muss die Frage eigentlich lauten: Retter oder Fressefaller?
Analytisch betrachtet, haben CNE bei diesem Album viel von dem, was
den Kollegen in letzter Zeit abhanden kam - und gefühlt erst recht.
Die Gitarren hängen so tief, wie man es erwartet, die Rhythmussektion
kann man nur als unbarmherzig bezeichnen, Chuck Ransom singt sich die
Seele aus dem Leibe und Hit folgt auf Hit folgt auf Hit. Gut, auch mal
mit ein paar durchschnittlichen Songs dazwischen, aber immer nur Vollgas
verträgt ja der beste Motor nicht. Retter oder Fressefaller? Entscheiden
Sie selbst, lieber Leser. Ich sage: die könnten es werden. Beides.

This is the right title for the new record of Swedish kick ass Rocker
TCNE! They toured a lot in Europe and with their debut record they opened
some doors and found a lot of followers. And nobody will be disappointed
with their new output. The opener YOU GOT IT COMING is a great forward
punching song with a lot of Punk Rock attitude. The following LESS THAN
A MAN is the first real hit on that record and shows the musical class
of that band! With simple riffs and vocals they create a monster of
a song. MOVE LIKE A MACHINE is another mid-tempo rocker with some AC/DC
comparison. The absolute highlight is the mighty COLD BLOOD, a track
with awesome vocal lines, cool lyrics and a chorus who will not went
out your head for days! The fast ON THE CASE next, great straight forward
rocker, before SILICONE CITY will let you bang your head. What a punching
song. !!!ELECTRIFIED!!! features some sing-a-long parts and is perfect
for every party! RADIOSHADOW is an acoustic track who fits perfect on
that record before the last crasher, called THE ROAD, THE DUST AND THE
GODDAMN POWER, ends this record with a mighty Stoner beat! A record
full of hits! The production is awesome and the artwork is killer! This
band fucking rules! Get this CD and help to make the real punching Rock'n'roll
alive! A must have!

It's November kiddies, time for some new music!
THE CHUCK NORRIS EXPERIMENT - "The Return Of Rock 'N' Roll"
CD '07 (Masterrock, Swe) - Well, "The Return..." sure came
quick and I ain't talkin' 'bout no Goddamn Bathory album! No, Sweden's
majestic CHUCK NORRIS EXPERIMENT has ridden back into town, snarling
& proud astride their iron horse of riffs that would make everyone
from Angus Young to Dirty Power to Wayne Kramer not only nod in agreement
but say, in a suitable drawl, "I believe we've got company."
Some short 6 or 7 months down the line from their already etched-in-stone
2007 Top 10 entry "And The Rest Will Follow," they've gone
it one better with this sonic visit to the gin mill at the center of
the town called Rawk. In the days when bloated, wheezing old has-beens
like Metallica take 5 years to make a living piece of shit, CNE has
gone back to the days of the '70's, when rock & punk & everything
was fresh and delivered not 1, but 2 records of 10-out-of-10 worth just
like masters named Iommi, Powell & the like used to do. Here's the
thing, guys & dollies: This album has songs with titles like "Cold
Blood," "That Shit Is Over Jack" and "The Road The
Dust And The Goddamn Power." And, unlike others, they have the
songs that back it up. In spades. People with names like Chuck Ransom,
Chuck Daniel, Chuck Lee Riot, Chuck Baker & Chuck The Ripper hammer
out riff bonanzas that would make Dan Blocker wince, pump in vocals
that would do well accompanying a full-scale back-alley brawl &
then coat the whole thing with leads Sir Angus could have switched for
any on "Powerage" & come out OK. The fact of the matter
is that THE CHUCK NORRIS EXPERIMENT has returned once again to bring
the Rawk and what they've brought is as great a record as this year
will see. 10/10 (Hey, I thought I didn't give numerical ratings. Well,
I just couldn't help myself this time!)

Schon mutig, dass eigene Album "The Return Of Rock´n´Roll"
zu nennen. Erstens war der Rock'n' Roll ja nie tot und zweitens haben
eine ganze Reihe von Bands – auch und gerade in letzter Zeit –
hochklassige Genre-Alben vorgelegt. Aber bloß keine Aufregung.
Diese fünf Schweden nehmen sich alles andere als bierernst und
außerdem blamieren sich The Chuck Norris Experiment trotzt des
hochtrabenden Titels nicht.
Die elf Songs des neusten Schweden-Happens verbreiten nämlich mächtig
Laune und liegen stilistisch auf einer Kragenweite mit Bands wie Turbonegro,
New Bomb Turks oder den verblichenen Gluecifer. Wir reden hier also
über Rotz-Rock, der vor allem aus dem Bauch heraus und aus Spaß
an der Sache gespielt wird. Diesem Anspruch hält "The Return
Of Rock´n´Roll" locker Stand.
Neben dem markanten Organ von Fronter Chuck Ransom überzeugen vor
allem die Gitarrenarbeit und das abwechslungsreiche Songwriting. Im
Vergleich zum Vorgänger haben die Herren hörbar an sich gearbeitet
und Songstrukturen sowie vor allem die Harmonien verbessert. Das Ergebnis:
Keiner der elf Songs klingt wie der andere und doch passen die Stücke
zusammen. Logo, das Oberthema der knapp 44 Minuten (inkl. Leerlauf und
hidden track) heißt Rock'n'Roll. Neben der gekonnten Interpretation
der schwedischen R'n'R-Highschool erfreuen auch Einflüsse von Turbonegro
("Cold Blood") sowie die coole AC/DC-Hommage "Electrified".
Wem das zu eintönig erscheint, erhält mit "RadioShadow
2007" eine lässige Country-Ballade und mit "The Road,
The Dust and The Goddam Power" gar einen Ausflug in Stoner Rock-Gefilde.
Aber ganz gleich, welchen stilistischen Deckel man draufklappt: The
Chuck Norris Experiment stehen für Bier, Schweiß und Spaß.
Der einzige Schwachpunkt des Albums: Die Augenbinden-Bengels ziehen
ihre Songs zuweilen unnötig in die Länge. Wenn es die Kerle
künftig schaffen sollten, durch die Bank weg in 2:30 auf den Punkt
zu kommen, sind The Chuck Norris Experiment ein gaaaaanz heißer
Anwärter auf den Rotzt-Rock-Thron.

Man
sind die fleißig. Gab's von denen nicht erst ein Album dieses
Jahr??? Die Rückkehr ist hiermit im vollem Gange und König
Rock`n Roll würdig gehuldigt. Ich denke mal das Satan himself nicht
besser solche Peitschenhiebe verteilen könnt wie CHUCK NORRIS EXPERIMENT.
Und ein gemeines, wohlwollendes Lächeln wird es vom Finsteren Recken
from Hell allemal geben für die 11 Kracher auf der Scheibe. Die
Combo hat sich weiter nach vorn bewegt und an ihrem Sound gefeilt. Alles
ein wenig mehr Ryhtmus ohne dabei die Kickass Sohle zu verlieren. Soundtechnisch
steht das Album auch in nix nach und somit is der Wahnsinn hier wärmsten
zu empfehlen für die kalten Tage die auf uns zukommen. Wer auf
englische Texte mit ordentlich RockMucke steht und was für Mitgröhl
Refrains übrig hat für den ist die Scheibe hier kein Fehlgriff…….Thats

Mit „The Return Of Rock’n’Roll“ haben die schwedischen
The Chuck Norris Experiment ein neues Album veröffentlicht und
dazu gibt es die passende Tour. Mit dabei waren im DreiRaum der Arena
die Wiener Dreadface, die mich wieder sehr an Motörhead erinnerten.
Auf jeden Fall war es ein sehr rockender Auftritt den die Band lieferte
und die Lieder waren auch sehr gut. Als The Chuck Norris Experiment
in einheitlicher Kleidung die Bühne betraten, war der DreiRaum
leider auch nicht gerade voll, im Gegenteil. Aber wenigstens kamen die
Besucher nach einer Weile und nach einer Aufforderung ein Stück
weiter nach vorne.
The Chuck Norris Experiment lieferten eine tolle Show, so wie man das
von schwedischen Rockbands eigentlich schon gewohnt ist. Zirka 45 Minuten
lang bekam man fantastischen, mitreißenden und melodiösen
Rock wie „You Got It Coming“, den Opener der neuen Scheibe,
zu hören. Die Band konnte auch mit der energischen Bühnenshow
und den sympathischen und witzigen Ansagen punkten.

- I can only figure it this way. This has to be some deranged plan by
my kids. They're trying to give me a freaking heart attack so they can
immediately inherit my vast fortunes. Um...hmmm. Well, what the hell's
up with that, as I don't have any vast fortunes. I don't have any narrow
fortunes, actually. I don't have much of anything, to be honest, except
a daycare business (which is doing pretty good, but I'm not sure what
my 5 kids would want with 74 MORE kids, to be honest) and 2 beat-to-shit
mini vans, plus a house in need of serious repairs. So, why is it I'm
getting so many God damned kick-ass CD's in the mail lately? I mean,
I already take heart meds, so I'm not sure how much more seriously I
can take somebody bringing the RAWK after Cobretti. And yet, here on
my doorstep, from beautiful downtown Sweden (Hello, Cleveland! Hello,
Sweden!) is CHUCK NORRIS. Well, it's not really CHUCK NORRIS himself
(as much of a thrill as that would be for macho ol' me), but with the
size of the holes caused by the machine-gun-like guitar strafing here,
and the door crashing in from the marshall arts kick this CD dishes
out from start to finish, it might as well be. Made up of luminaries
from several other Swedish bands, THE CHUCK NORRIS EXPERIMENT is basically
a statement in the words "ass kicking personified." In fact,
considering the fact that all the members are going by the first name
"Chuck" and the maximum dose of in-your-face rawk and God-damn
roll present on "...And The Rest," this would be a perfect
fit on the Wondertaker label. That should tell you how good it is, but
even that may not do this one justice. Remember the Dirty Power disc
of a few years back? Remember the startling blast of Bible Of The Devil's
"Tight Empire?" Yes, my friends, this is that good. In fact,
by the time opener "The Roof Is About To Cave In" has shuddered
to a close in your speakers, your roof will have caved in & you'll
have to move next door to destroy your neighbor's humble abode with
"Meteor Mama." And then, "Senorita (Lookout)." And
then, "Saturday Night." And then, "She Moves In Murderous
Ways." Are you getting my point here? There is seriously not one
weak cut, not one rusty link in this violent back-alley swing of a chain
to the head. Hell, they do a Pagans cover, they do a key-laden version
of "Meteor Mama" to close the CD, which makes 2 great songs
out of one and they have a song called "Bullshit City." Take
that, Gums & Blowjobs, not freaking "Paradise City" but
"Bullshit City!" And, you want to know something else? Just
like Cobretti, they also have a guitarist who is left-handed! But you
know what, I can't really tell you anything else that will make any
sense because these songs are so great, this band kicks so much ass
and this CD is such a necessity that there is nothing else for you to
do except to order it right now. Genres be damned, everybody in the
world, even my kids need to make this 35 minutes of rawk their mantra
for life. Now, if I can just figure out why they want my mini-vans.

THE CHUCK NORRIS EXPERIMENT deliver 12 headbanging, punked up, riff-crazy,
dashboard-thumping tunes with their second full-length, "And The
Rest Will Follow". Apparently, the band is composed of guys from
bands as varied as TIAMAT, RICKSHAW, and TAURUS. Judging from this platter
as well as their debut, this lineup is capable of some pretty dangerous
music.
"And The Rest Will Follow" is a drop-the-needle sort of disc,
with high points as far as the eye can see. Vocalist Chuck Ransom screams
and struts like the bastard clone of Ian Astbury and Scott Hill in tracks
like "Senorita (Lookout)" and "Authority Problem (Killers)".
The interplay between Chuck Mojo's larger-than-life bass and Chuck Lee
Riot's rhythm guitar is so tight, you'd swear it's a power trio kind
of deal. But the extraordinary lead work of Chuck Daniels destroys that
theory, adding another layer of quality to this masterwork. Standout
tracks are tough to pick, but after multiple listens, the awards go
to "Bullshit City" for the hard-panned Angus-style riffs and
sick bass groove, and "Saturday Night" for its FU MANCHU action
rock vibe and ridiculously boneheaded, infectious KISS-style chorus.
The closer "158 (100mph Remix)" substitutes keyboards for
guitars, and yet somehow kicks ass just like every other track on the
disc. Plus, they earn an extra .5 for the sleazy cover of the PAGANS
"Not Now, No Way". This is what it's all about, people, so
grab it.

Chuck Norris works out to the Chuck Norris Experiment. After you finish
laughing at the band name, get ready to rock out to some of the most
fantastic rock and roll produced in the last decade. The Chuck Norris
Experiment's debut album is something that gets your head nodding immediately,
something standard rock and roll hasn't done for ages now.
Decribing Chuck Norris Experiment's music is relatively easy. You see,
this album isn't filled to the brim with unexplainable fusion, nor technicality
that would make Ron Jarzombek say, "wow, these guys are good."
Chuck Norris Experiment's music is rock and roll the way it hasn't been
for awhile now. It's playful, energetic, unpretentious and direct. There's
a lot of raw, punky rhythms and mid-paced grooves that are actually
groovy. The tone they use sounds very close to Queens of the Stone Age,
and some of the rhythms sound pretty damn close, too, but there's no
stoner element here.
It's like perfect cruising music. Songs like "Lookout (Senorita)"
and "Fire" provide choruses and verses that are extremely
condusive to speeding, while maintaining a brevity that keeps the sound
from growing stale. There's humor and the standard pedestrian rock and
roll aesthetics of chicks! All the members' stage names begin with Chuck
(Chuck Baker – drums, Chuck Reynolds – bass, Chuck Ransom
– vocals, Chuck Lee Riot – rhythm guitar, Chuck Rooster –
lead guitar). All of the songs are short and to-the-point, except for
"Radioshadow," which extends to seven minutes, but even then,
the clap-able rhythm makes for a listen that refuses to grow stale.
Not a single song on this album is filler or a throwaway,
The only possible way this album could be anything less than a modern
rock and roll gem would be that you'd come searching for something that's
not here, like extreme speed or technicality. This album isn't breaking

After
a good EP the Swedish rockers from TCNE are back with the first full
- length. The album will get released under a different name in Australia
too - so don't be confused about the 2 different titles. If you know
the EP or the track from the Burn the street compilation, you know what
you can expect. Stoner Rock with some moments that are very close on
Turbonegro. That is the big difference to the mentioned EP. The band
broke out from the Stoner Rock corner and put more Rock'n'roll in their
sound, especially like Turbonegro did. Starting with the cool rocker
THE ROOF IS ABOUT THE CAVE IN, one of the best and most rocking tracks
from this band. And you will not get disappointed with the other tracks.
Highlights are the opening track, the Chuck typical SATURDAY NIGHT,
BULLSHIT CITY and the cool ROCK`N`ROLL SUICIDE that reminds me on a
mix of the Eagles Death Metal. The guitars are awesome and the vocals,
especially on the mighty refrain, kick ass! Not every track can hold
that high level. SUPERSIZED ROLLER for example. Especially NOT NOW,
NO WAY is too boring and in my eyes too funny. And sure, SENORITA from
the EP is still a real hit, but I don't know why they put this track
again on this record. But with the last track, an REMIX of 158 (Twin
Universe Remix) they give a good statement against the die-hard Stoner
fans - cool! All in all a big step forward since the EP release. The
songs are straighter and found a new home at a Rock basement. The typical
Stoner Rock elements are not in the front and that is cool!

We'll just blame it on the water over in Sweden. Something, or something,
over there is churning out indie rock and garage rock bands like it's
their job. The next in the line of the denim and leather rock n' rollers
from Scandinavia (much in the vein of The Hellacopters, Turbonegro and
Gluecifer) is The Chuck Norris Experiment. Combine some wacky (but eye-catching)
cover art and some lo-fi, but decidedly rockish, good ol' fashioned
rock and roll, and you've got The Chuck Norris Experiment.
Get ready to drain some brews, turn up the speakers, and rock out, 'cause
this band is all about a good time. By no means pushing the envelope
of technicality, The Chuck Norris Experiment is Swedish rock 'n all
its glory. Somehow, these cats can play a seven-minute, simplistic rock
song ("Radioshow") and not get boring, while also speeding
through two- and three-minute rockfests (most notably "I'm The
Law" and "Little Demon").
One cup Nashville Pussy, two tablespoons The Hellacopters, attitude
from Turbonegro, and a pinch of Motörhead, bake at 350 for the
duration of the self-titled record's 32 minutes, and that's the successful
recipe for The Chuck Norris Experiment's sound. Rock and roll, down
and dirty, right on.

från första till sista ackord. The Chuck Norris Experiment
vilar inte på lagrarna; är det rock’n’roll så
är det. Även om bandet självt kallar det hårdrock
känns det denna gång mer som lite tyngre rock med punkattack.
Backyard Babies, eller varför inte Hellacopters, ligger närmare
en jämförelse än exempelvis Black Sabbath. Med det menas
inget negativt.
TCNE gör det utmärkt, utan att för den skull presentera
något direkt innovativt. Sjutton låtar må vara en
handfull för många, men det finns tillräckligt mycket
av hög klass på Volume! Voltage! för att göra bilresan
eller förfesten till en upplevelse, inte minst för medtrafikanter
och grannar.

One of the bigger hazards of being a music critic is letting
the sheer number of albums you’ve reviewed get the better of you
(the other is amassing a CD collection so voluminous that you spend
a good amount of time tripping over random stacks of random discs).
You get jaded and each new release sounds like one you listened to a
couple of weeks ago, which sounded just like one from the previous month.
Been there, heard that. Next.
And then there are those pleasant surprise albums that cleave straight
through the culminated bullshit and set you straight. The Chuck Norris
Experiment has done just that with their self-titled release. It’s
an honest, awesome shot of 100 proof rock n roll. With a pedigree that
includes Rickshaw and Taurus, this gang of Swedes (all named “Chuck,”
a kitschy move) specializes in high energy dirt rock that’s got
enough of a punk spirit to ugly it up. Chuck Ransom’s vocals fall
somewhere between Bon Scott (or maybe it’s Jello Biafra) and those
throaty howlers of the early ‘80’s, and his off-kilter bellows
gives the ten songs even more gritty charm.
A kick ass record all around. Fast paced and furious, The Chuck Norris
Experiment is gonna knock your dick in the dirt with this one. Check
‘em out.

Stoner rock fans, gather 'round. I don't know why I find it a tad surprising
but Sweden seems to be home to a dedicated stoner rock scene and The
Chuck Norris Experiment is a good example of it. First off, the vocals.
They're on the high end and full of attitude (and conveyed with a bit
of reverb, just the right amount if you ask me). There's back up vocals
that help with that retro rock flavor. And the music is awash in fuzz
and whiskey and balls-out energy. It's a catchy and fun mix from a band
that is obviously out to just make some great rock and roll. If you
dig stoner you owe it to yourself to introduce yourself to the this
band, raw and gritty but nicely done, and vicariously through this band,
the scene behind them.
So come on!

Göteborgs neuester Exportschlager hat nix mit melodischem Death
Metal zu tun. Stattdessen widmen sich THE CHUCK NORRIS EXPERIMENT dem
handelsüblichen Schweinerock, wie ihn einst GLUECIFER und die HELLACOPTERS
in Skandinavien etablierten, und das macht die Band, bei denen ehemalige
Mitglieder von RICKSHAW, TIAMAT und TAURUS mit von der Partie sind,
mit einer Leidenschaft, die heute wirklich selten vorzufinden ist. Bereits
auf dem "Punk'n'Roll A Licios"-Sampler ist mir die Band äußerst
positiv aufgefallen, und diesen wohlwollenden Eindruck können THE
CHUCK NORRIS EXPERIMENT auf ihrer ersten Full-Length dann auch voll
und ganz bestätigen. Schade nur, dass die CD so verdammt kurz ist...
Auf "The Chuck Norris Experiment" wird vor allem deutlich,
wie stark die Jungs von AC/DC beeinflusst sind. Rein rifftechnisch findet
man hier viele Parallelen zu den australischen Giganten, besonders in
Midtempo-Tracks wie 'Little Demon' und dem unheimlich starken 'RadioShadow',
welches am Ende von einem superben Solo abgeschlossen wird. An anderer
Stelle hört man dann Gruppen wie die BACKYARD BABIES und die oben
genannten Rotzrock-Pioniere heraus. 'Dinosaur Fire' und das supercoole
'Speedfever' strotzen nur so vor Dreck. Räudig und rau lassen die
Schweden es hier zugehen, und trotzdem findet man überall noch
Platz für ein paar coole Leads und ein packendes Solo.
Irgendwo dazwischen stehen dann Tracks wie der ebenfalls gut vorantreibende
Opener 'Senorita (Lookout)' und das melodische 'Go Heavy (On The Honey)'.
Hier legt man den Schwerpunkt sowohl auf einen rotzigen Sound, als auch
auf einen gesteigerten Wiedererkennungswert, wobei die Mischung aus
eingängigen Punk'n'Roll-Nummern und beschwingt groovenden Retro-Rock-Kompositionen
auf dem selbstbetitelten Debüt von THE CHUCK NORRIS EXPERIMENT
sowieso sehr ausgewogen ist. Sieht man mal vom recht unauffälligen
'I'm The Law' ab, findet man auf diesem Album ausschließlich leichtfüßige
Highlights, die mithelfen sollen, rund um Göteborg eine neue schwedische
Schweinerock-Szene zu etablieren, nachdem die Helden der ersten Generation
langsam aber sicher "erwachsen" geworden sind. Ehrlich gesagt
gefallen mir die jungen, frischen Sounds vom CHUCK NORRIS EXPERIMENT
aber weitaus besser als die Musik, mit der die HELLACOPTERS einen seit
Jahren mehr oder weniger langweilen, weshalb ich die Scheibe auch vor
allen dem HELLACOPTERS-Fans der ersten Stunde ans Herz legen möchte.
Hier bekommt man in etwa das geboten, was eine Scheibe wie "Payin'
The Dues" zum unsterblichen Szene-Klassiker gemacht hat, und wem
dies als Qualitätsmerkmal nicht ausreicht, der hat den Rock 'n'
Roll wohl nicht so ganz verstanden!

Ok usually I don't like it when bands release self titled albums but
I'll go easy on these guys as this just plain rocks out big time, big
guitars, hot solos and very impressive vocals. This just about knocked
my head off with the amount of energy that comes of this disc, imagine
seeing them live,it must be one awsome experience. They jam it out on
"Radioshadow" in the same way the Street Walkin Cheetahs break
down some of their songs. Just when you thought your ears couldn't bleed
anymore they turn it up on the last 4 songs and speed it up with a song
aptly titled "Speedfever", its one hell of an album that must
be heard. GET IT!!(vinnie)

Ah, Chuck Norris… There’s so much to say about this guy. His
movies, his tv-series (Walker, Texas Ranger), his tele-shopping shit.
He’s an icon! That’s what this gang of Swedish musicians must’ve
thought as well. And so started the Chuck Norris Experiment. Members
of Tiamat, Taurus and Rickshaw got together, wrote eight songs and put
out an album. The result is rock ‘n roll, like their fellow countrymen
in the Hellacopters most notably. It’s obvious that the musicians
are experienced, and the songs are all rocking enough to keep my head
bobbing. This is a fun album in the honour of a funny guy called Chuck
Norris. And it rocks.

Bajo el extrañísimo nombre de The Chuck Norris Experiment,
diferentes miembros de Rickshaw, Tiamat y Taurus, se reunieron para
despuntar el vicio y editar este disco. Si nos guiamos por la ciudad
de donde provienen, Gothenburg, Suecia, la ecuación podría
cerrarnos en death metal melódico, pero no, nada que ver: estos
muchachos que actúan bajo los seudónimos de Chuck Rooster,
Chuck Lee Riot, Chuck Mojo, Chuck Baker, y Chuck Ransom, se reunieron
en un estudio de grabación y de una sola toma lograron un discazo
de puro rock ‘n’ roll. Viejas glorias se sentirán representadas
por este disco, como AC/DC, Sex Pistols, y Motörhead, al igual
que bandas mas actuales como Gluecifer, The Hellacopters o Monster Magnet,
todas bandas que le rinden culto a los riffs cuadrados, a la diversión,

Jag hoppas att bonnläppen Chuck Norris - vars enda kvalitet på
vita duken var att fightas - känner sig stolt och hedrad. Det här
debuterande punkgänget känns nämligen som en ordentlig
karatekick på kulorna. Bandet består av medlemmar från
TIAMAT, RICKSHAW och TAURUS. En sak är dock säker: CHUCK NORRIS
EXPERIMENT har inte mycket gemensamt med dem. Det tjugoåtta minuter
korta debutalbumet sprutar ut en hybrid av punk och snabb motorcykelrock
med en energi som glöder hetare än en uranstav i Barsebäck.
Ja, det här är dessutom kaxigare och mer rebelliskt än
mycket annat i samma hylla. Men så brukar det låta på
förstlingsverk. Enda problemet är att det tar slut så
fort. Chuck it out!

Big thick woolly sound here from the Chuck Experimenters, pretty fuckin
lively, very rock.
By
far my favorite track is the epic "Radioshadow", haulin' in
at seven minutes, with a pair of girls underpants that smell like the
Stooges' "No Fun". These fuckers do this long/jam/riff/ rock
extremely well.
There
is a big '70s influence at work here, with some punk/cunt attitude throw
in to piss you off. Tracks like "Little Demon" reminded me
of Grand Funk Railroad fucking Kiss up the ass. That's a good thing
(albeit a BAD porno movie).
Hailing
from Goatberg, Sweeden, this sounds very 'European rock n roll'. These
guys would go well with, say, Gluecifer.
My
other favorite track "Speedfever" sounds like Lyrnard Skynard
on speed and with a fever, again a good thing. While not the most inspired
recordever heard, these guys would crank it up live for a max good time.
It would be great to see 'em belting out this album.

tarttuvaa ja tuhtia iloittelua. Yleisesti etenkin Stooges tulee mieleen
Chuck Norris Experimentistä. Laulaja Chuck Ransom saa kuulijan
heti otteeseensa, pitää sen verran tiukasti homman koko ajan
menossa. Aloitusraita Sendrita (Lookout) myös tuo heti esiin hänen
monipuolisuutensa. Hyvin tiukasti tuimistelee pääosin läpi
levyn nekin kohdat, kun soitto on rennompaa ja rauhallisempaa. Välillä
hommaa lähdetään levittämään liikaa, kuten
hyvällä tavalla laiskemmin alkava 7-minuuttinen Radioshaw
lässähtää puolivälissä tylsähköön
ja liian toistolliseen soolotteluun, joka tuo mieleen Ted Nugentin.
Samoin Dinosaur Fire on aluksi helkutin hyvää paahtoa, kunnes
senkin lopusta katoaa mielenkiinto. Sovituksiin olisi kaivannut samanlaista
tiukkuutta kuin mitä on laulussa. Kahdeksan kappaletta sisältävältä
levyltä nousee selkeästi kuitenkin enemmän esiin positiivisia
kuin negatiivisia seikkoja.

Dieses Album verraet einem weder, wie man den schwarzen Guertel in einer
asiatischen Kampfkunst oder in mehr oder weniger gelungenen Actionfilmen
holt, noch wie man erfolgreich halbwegs brauchbare Fitnessgeraete per
TV-Shop verkauft, sondern dient lediglich der Bekaempfung der Langeweile
zwischen Aufnahmen und Touren der Bandmitglieder. Jedenfalls meint dies
der Beipackzettel der Promo-CD. Falsche Bescheidenheit, denn was die
fuenf „Chucks“ hier vom Stapel lassen, ist ein exzellentes
Album, das beim ersten Reinhoeren stark an die Queens of the Stone Age
erinnert. Drueckend, hart, Gitarre… schoen so. Das Experiment besteht
aus Mitgliedern von „Rickshaw“, „Tiamat“ und „Taurus“,
Chuck Rooster, Chuck Lee Riot, Chuck Reynolds, Chuck Baker und Chuck
Ransom. Eine riesig grosse Bandbreite an verschiedenen Sounds bietet
die Scheibe bei ihrer kurzen Spielzeit natuerlich nicht. Aber sie unterhaelt
eine halbe Stunde gut. Daher, Experiment geglueckt. Und der grosse Chuck
Norris darf stolz sein, dass diese Band und das Album seinen Namen traegt.

You won’t neither know how to get the black belt in martial arts
nor in more or less well done action movies or how you’ll sell
some kind of useful body building machines on tv. It’s just to
fight against boredom between studio recordings or tours. If you want
to believe in the fact sheet on the album. Not true! It’s an excellent
album of these five “Chucks” that remains of the Queens of
the Stone Age. Pressing, hard, guitars … well done. This experiment
is “made” of members of “Rickshaw”, “Tiamat”
and “Taurus”, in fact Chuck Rooster, Chuck Lee Riot, Chuck
Reynolds, Chuck Baker and Chuck Ransom. That record’s too short
to get a really big variety of different sounds. But it’s great
entertainment for a half an hour. Because of this: Well done! And Chuck
Norris can be proud of that band and the record that gots his name.

Uno
dei nomi più belli (o più insensati?) della storia del
rock. No, non c'entra nulla Walker Texas Ranger, anzi. Qui siamo nei
territori incandescenti dello scan rock, quello più ruspante
ed esplosivo. Autori ne sono questi cinque simpaticoni dietro i cui
nick (Chuck Rooster, Chuck Lee Riot, Chuck Reynolds, Chuck Baker, Chuck
Ransom) si celano membri di Rickshaw, Tiamat e Taurus. E suona abbastanza
strano un disco del genere se si pensa ai Tiamat, ma tant'è…
sappiamo bene che la cultura musicale svedese porta a fare di tutto.
Eccoci dunque dinanzi ad un lavoro di puro ed incontaminato rock'n'roll,
quello che non tramonterà mai e che nonostante i revival (posticci
o meno che siano) mai passerà di moda. Non aspettatevi novità,
l'esperimento Chuck Norris non inventa alcunché, picchia forte
e duro lasciando spazi nulli all'innovazione. Ciò che ne viene
fuori è una mezz'oretta di sano divertimento, quello buzzurro
e pasticcione, colorato però da suoni coinvolgenti e melodie
a presa rapida.
Pezzi come "Senorita (Lookout)", "I'm the law" o
"Reason for my bad" hanno un tiro micidiale, vomitano rock'n'roll
selvaggio, grezzo e senza tanti fronzoli, che attraversa tutta la storia
dell'hard partendo dalla cruda realtà industriale degli Stooges
e arrivando al perverso e colorato mondo dei Turbonegro. Nel caso di
"Little demon", "Go heavy (On the honey)" e "Speedfever"
i riff rocciosi si accoppiano a vocals lascive: predominano tanta melodia
e la giusta attitudine scanzonata che rende l'atmosfera ideale per scendere
in strada e lasciarsi andare al delirio alcolico. Insomma, Kiss e AC/DC
e ne sarebbero fieri... Ma va sottolineato anche un brano come "Radioshadow",
dove le sonorità si fanno spesse e fumose, andando a toccare
i lidi dello stoner e dell'hard rock muscoloso, come se i Kyuss finissero
in un'orgia elettrica in compagnia di Bad Wizard e Roadsaw.
Tutto questo sono i Chuck Norris Experiment, un progetto che ci auguriamo
duri più a lungo di un solo disco. In tempi oscuri come quelli
di oggi gruppi del genere sono sempre i benvenuti!

olivat ne yhtyeet, jotka jokunen vuosi sitten vapaaehtoisesti halusivat
tulla esille stoner rockin lipunkantajina. Termin keinotekoisuus ja
sivumerkitysten osoittelevuus karsivat joukon harvaksi ja passittivat
koko musiikinlajin takaisin marginaaliin. Sieltä käsin musiikkiaan
tekevät yhä nämä kaksi ruotsalaista yhtyettä,
joiden ei luulisi olevan luokittelusta moksiskaan. Truckfighters lähtee
rohkeasti polveilevan aavikkosoundin perään. Pitkissä
kappaleissa jumitetaan klassisilla junttariffeillä ja näppäillään
pienieleisesti lähes vuorotahtiin, mikä on tietysti Kyussin
albumeilta opittua. Tässä lajissa kilpasille lähteminen
päättyy tosin lähes aina haastajan tappioon eikä
Truckfightersilla ole pistää kehään John Garcian
tasoista kultakurkkua ja Josh Hommen lanseeraamien kitarakuvioiden jäljittelykin
on ilmeisen keinotekoista. Bändi noudattaa liian orjallisesti genren
sääntöjä. Muun muassa Rickshaw- ja Tiamat-jäsenistöä
riveissään edustava Chuck Norris Experiment ei sen sijaan
pakittele. Heti Senoritassa lyö korville komeasti rakennettu röpötyssoundi,
jolla on kiva lohkoa isompaakin kalliota. Riffivetoisuus on ilmiselvää,
mutta asenteensa puolesta pokataan Fu Manchun ohella kuitenkin syvimpään
Motörheadille. Yhtyeen mukaan nimetystä debyytistä kuulee
myös kuinka musiikin soittaminen ei ole heille määrittelykysymys,
sillä mitenkään leimallisesti se ei stonerin koodistoa
vedä perässään. Radioshadowin simppeli jytä
on eniten velkaa The Stoogesille ja lopun minuutteja kestävä
jamittelukin toimii bändin herkullisen rullaavaan tatsiin tukeutuen.

Hell yeah - TCNE (what a cool name) are members from TIAMAT and RICKSHAW
and rock like hell. Maybe you will know SENORITA from the Burn the street
3 compilation. These 8 tracks rock and kick ass like hell. Big plus
is definitely the unique vocals from CHUCK RANSOM, this man has the
right organ for this music. And the band plays simple, but tracks like
LITTLE DEMON, RADIOSHADOW or SPEEDFEVER are awesome and will show other
so-called great newcomers their limit. I hope we will hear more from
this project. One of the best newcomers in my eyes. And a great artwork
too!*

THE
CHUCK NORRIS EXPERIMENT "S/T"
A dir la verità Chuck Norris e la serie Texas Ranger mi hanno
letteralmente devastato i cosiddetti, mai visto un uomo che ferito da
un colpo di pistola, salta in groppa ad un cavallo, insegue i cattivoni
e poi li mette al tappeto con il solito colpo: ovvero calcio rotante
fra kung fu e wrestling. Potete dunque immaginarvi la mia reazione quando
mi sono visto recapitare questo dischetto timbrato The Chuck Norris
Experiment. La prima domanda che si è fatta strada nel mio subconscio
è stata: "No non ditemi che Chuck ha pure messo in piedi
una band nella quale declama le grandi avventure del ranger texano!?".
Per fortuna leggendo il press kit di accompagnamento ogni mio dubbio
è stato trafugato, infatti The Chuck Norris Experiment è
un quintetto svedese composto da membri provenienti da Rickshaw, Tiamat
e Taurus, tutti camuffatti sotto gli alias di Chuck Rooster, Chuck Ranson,
Chuck Lee Riot, etc.. Basta il tempo per piazzare questo dischetto nel
lettore ed ascoltare l'opener "Senorita(Lookout)" per capire
dove vogliono andare a parare i nostri: rok'n'roll furioso e tirato,
altamente fuzzato e distorto, pieno di riffs dall'urgenza punk, fatto
per far muovere le chiappe, progenitore stretto di ciò che i
grandi Rickshaw hanno finora sfornato. 8 songs che spaccano senza mezzi
termini, le quali corrono nella direzione tracciata dai Monster Magnet
più diretti, aggiungendovi quel retrogusto da caciara tipico
dello scan rock. Hey, non confondeteli con i Backyard Babies, questa
è pura e grandiosa dinamite, con gli amplificatori in costante
saturazione e l'anima di coloro che devono ancora sfondare per davvero.
I The Chuck Norris Experiment sono abrasivi, distorti, granitici, piazzano
riffs affilati come i rasoi, carichi di debordante elettricità,
le vocals sono così spaziali da catapultarti in una dimensione
fatta di vero e marcio rock'n'roll, come se gli Stooges fossero nati
nel 2005 ed avessero a disposizione tutte le tecnologie attuali. Niente
tregua all'assalto; e quando i nostri vogliono strizzare l'occhio alla
tradizione, lo fanno con il gioiellino titolato "Dinosaur Fire",
roba da brividi! Da qualsiasi parte prendi questo dischetto ti accorgi
di avere nelle cuffie una delle migliori release dell'anno passato:
l'attitudine è quella di un bulldozer che spazza via tutto con
una tremenda ed elettrica onda d'urto! Su la mano cornuda: se i Rickshaw
mi avevano reso felice con il loro ultimo "Sonic Overload",
i The Chuck Norris Experiment riescono addirittura a superare i fasti
di quel lavoro. Top album a pieno titolo per cui non lasciatevelo sfuggire
e godete anche voi ascoltando il conclusivo colosso titolato "SpeedFever",
un brano che definirei semplicemente "grandioso!". Belve di
rock'n'roll, come potrebbe suggerire l'artwork… Per concludere
aggiungo che la song "Go Heavy (On The Honey)" è stata
scritta dai nostri assieme a Jake Starr degli Adam West, e che questa
release è uscita in formato CD per Bad Attitude ed in vinile
per la nostra Scarey Records. Ed ora lasciatemi fare un po' di headbanging
sulle note di "Reason For My Bad"!

Chuck Norris Experiment

This
project is born as “an attempt to cure the boring between recordings
and tours” and is formed by members of already well known bands
like Tiamat, Rickshaw and Taurus. Eight tracks of wild rock’n’roll
based on fast riffs and punk attitude, that kind of disc that make you
move your ass and shake your head: no miraculous innovations, no particular
effects, just music played for the pleasure of the players and the listeners.
If
you have listened to the volume three of the Burn the Street compilation
you have already an example of this sound with the excellent Senorita,
the track that opens this work and that result a perfect summary of
the Chuck Norris menu (and honestly my favourite of the whole album).
The influence of the main bands sometimes is evident, especially the
Rickshaw sound, and the disc will be a pleasure for every Scandinavian
rock lover that will found some very interesting tracks: the great opening
with Senorita and Little Demon, that lead to the long Radioshow, interesting
but perhaps too much long and repetitive, or the good Dinosaur Fire
that will surprise all the fans of the early Hellacopters!
Wild punk and roll condensed in less than thirty minutes, edited both
in CD (Bad Attitude Records) and vinyl (Scarey Records), as in the “fine”
punk rock tradition.

volte è davvero difficile riprendersi dallo shock procurato dall'ascolto
di alcuni dischi. L'esordio omonimo dei Chuck Norris Experiment fa parte
della ristretta schiera di questi album: immaginatevi il gigantesco
gorilla inferocito raffigurato in copertina che vi colpisce con tutta
la sua mostruosa forza con una devastante zampata in pieno volto ed
avrete l'idea di cosa potrà accadervi all'ascolto di questi cinque
"assassini" svedesi. Ex membri di Rickshaw, Tiamat e Taurus
ci consegnano quello che da tempo ci aspettavamo dalla Svezia e che
Hellacopters e compagnia hanno smarrito nel tempo : ruggente hard rock
and roll innamorato perdutamente degli anni settanta , ma con un'attitudine
sanguinaria vicina a quei killer chiamati J.J. Paradise Players Club,

Domanda: cosa potrebbe accadere qualora membri di Rickshaw, Tiamat e
Taurus decidessero di unirsi per dar vita ad una band chiamata the Chuck
Norris Experiment? La risposta a questa, tuttaltro che ipotetica, domanda
ci viene fornita dalla Scarey Records con un vinile carico di adrenalina
e selvaggio rock'n'roll. L'esperimento di Chuck Norris si muove intorno
ad un riffing roccioso e granitico, padrone indiscusso di queste otto
schegge in continuo bilico tra garage ed hard rock, con una spruzzata
di energico punk e di alcolico southern a rendere il piatto ancora più
saporito. Degna compagna di bravate, la voce al vetriolo non può
che seguire le folli cavalcate di una sei corde imbizzarrita, spesso
lanciata in assoli taglienti come rasoi, vere e proprie scorribande
lungo le highway statunitensi. Supportati da una sezione ritmica degna
di una panzer division, i nostri non sembrano conoscere stanchezza e
affanno, sputando in faccia all'ascoltatore niente più niente
meno che pura nitroglicerina elettrica, perfetta nella sua continua
citazione di un genere oggi più necessario che mai. Ovviamente,
qui l'impatto e la carica esplosiva sono tutto, nessuna concessione
ad innovazione o originalità, nessuna voglia di stupire o di
inventare, ma semplice ed irresistibile voglia di riffoni e cori trascinanti,
quattro quarti sparato e sirene della polizia in lontananza. Per dare
una risposta concisa alla domanda posta in apertura, non resta che descrivere
la chiesa del rock'n'roll così come potrebbero immaginarsela
i biker, con birra e tabacco a sostituire le offerte e le harley usate
al posto delle panche per far posto ai fedeli, un prete vestito in "denim
and leather" ed un bel Marshall al posto dell'organo. Se amate
questi suoni e vi sentite pronti ad un coast to coast, preparatevi a
fare la parte delle cavie per l'esperimento di Chuck Norris.

Rickshaw, Tiamat and Taurus The Chuck Norris Experiment kicks some serious
arse. Like they said in the info...this is an eight-track rockmonster.
Imagine Gluecifer would team up with MonsterMagnet and you are almost
there. I love the sound of this LP...it´s pretty pure, but also
really fat and straight forward...the voice comes out damn clear and
leaves no wish open...smokesoaked and groovy how it should be. Do yourself
a favour and order this LP.

I
guess it was just a matter of time before someone named themselves after
this stoneface action star. CNE comes off as a less stoner-ish more
straight forward rockin' Monster Magnet, maybe due to singer Chuck Ransom's
(yep, all five member are named Chuck) great hollerin'. I really like
the last punky track, "Speedfever", which I'm positive that
Lemmy'd approve of, its also the shortest tune, some of the others are
a tad too long for my taste. You probably heard this kinda r'n'r mayhem
before, but if ballsy crunchin' Detroit/Aussie-style hardrock-fuzz gets
yer pecker up then you'd invest in these Swedes' debut album. CD available
from Bad Attitudes Records. Hmm...any bands out there named after Segal,
Van Damme, or what about The
Lorenzo Lamas?

Our
ol' pal and frequent collaborator Jocke from Swede sleazedealers Rickshaw
teams up here with members of fuzzmerchants Taurus and goth-metal kingpins
Tiamat for a rather explosive swagger rock side-project. The name would
suggest karate-chopping, Kung Foolin' action, and baby, they deliver
on 8 streamlined tracks worth of 70's roller-rawk and high-steppin'
arena-slabbage. Highlight o' the pack, for me, is the bitchin' "Little
Demon", the perfect faded denim wearin' , van blasting honcho mustache
ride, somewhere between Judas Priest and Fu Manchu, which, as we all
know, is a very righteous place to be. Elsewhere, "Senorita"
has a swanky stoner chug-meets-cock rock strut to it, and "Radioshadow"
cops "No Fun" and turns it into a big 'ol dynamite monsterboogie
superhit, and well, fuck, it's all pretty bad ass. I'm not one to tell
anybody to quit their dayjobs or nothin', but this here "Experiment"
is such a smashing success that they might wanna think about makin'
it a full-time gig. The Chuck Norris Experience, maybe. Anyway, check
this 'un out. And then go bust some boards with yr fuckin' head right
after.
